United appoints specialty equipment leader

United Rentals has promoted David Scott to the position of Senior Vice President, Specialty Operations. Scott, who was previously a Regional Vice President for Power/HVAC, wiill report to Paul McDonnell, United’s EVP & Chief Commercial Officer.

In his new role he will lead United’s Trench Safety, Power, HVAC, Fluid Solutions, Tools Solutions, and Reliable Onsite Services Regions. He will also be responsible for the Baker business Europe.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Scott has more than 28 years experience in the rental sector, joining United in 2010 following 19 years with HERC.

McDonnell said Scott would bring “added focus and momentum” to businesses that have become ”an increasingly important part of the United Rentals growth story”.

Scott said he was excited by the challenge to further expand the specialty bsuiness; ”Customers are increasingly seeing the value to extending their relationship with United Rentals to include trench safety, power, HVAC, tools and more”.
