Shore Hire, based in Sydney, New South Wales, was founded in 2010 and operates eight locations in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

It offers shoring and propping equipment, traffic control systems, surveying lasers and pipe testing equipment.

Hire & Rental News said the sale process was expected to be completed in mid-September.

Shore Hire will operate alongside other the two other United Rentals businesses in Australia: Orange Hire, which was acquired earlier this year, and Royal Wolf.

The report said Shore’s existing staff will remain in place, with no immediate operational or accounting changes.

United first moved into the Australian equipment rental market in 2021 when it acquired US-based General Finance Corp for US$996 million.

That deal gave it several businesses in the USA and Canada as well as Royal Wolf in Australia and New Zealand. Royal Wolf rents site huts and storage containers.
