MSK Waste Management & Recycling has taken delivery of the first Volvo C Series wheeled excavator to be fitted with a Volvo designed hydraulically extending operator’s cab. The 17,5 tonne EW160C is now operating at MSK’s bespoke Barking facility in East London, UK, where its main duties are in feeding the plant with a range of C&D waste as well as general rehandling.

It joined a Volvo L120E loading shovel that was delivered early in 2007. The machine was supplied with solid tyres, a 3.1 m (10.2 ft) dipper arm and rotating selector grapple. When the elevating cab is a full height, it stands 5.6 m (18.4 ft) above the ground, giving a practical line of sight at just over 5 m (15.5 ft).
