WDS’s friend in high places

John Woodward isn’t just a session chair at this year’s World Demolition Summit and a long standing World Demolition Awards judge – he’s one of the events biggest supporters as well.

John – whose United Kingdom-based company C&D Consultancy has advised on taking down everything from tower blocks to chemical plants – regularly publicises the WDS in his company’s own e-newsletter, called Demolish and Dismantle.

It covers the latest in demolition from both C&D and elsewhere, as well offering updates on the training arm of the business.

John’s colleague Mike Kehoe, himself a speaker at last year’s WDS in Miami, told D&Ri: “We wear many (hard) hats and take up many roles so, in football terms, we are a pretty good utility player who can do a job in many positions on the field.

“Both John and I are passionate about training the industry so we are often running National Demolition Training Group approved courses throughout the country to  ensure that demolition workers get trained where they like and when they like.

“The rest of 2017 looks interesting for us with two major overseas projects now secured and we are in early involvement talks on a number of major UK schemes where clients are listening to the Health and Safety Executive and obtaining specialist demolition advice to discharge their duties and demonstrate that they are an informed client.”
