Dutch heavy marine transportation company, BigRoll Shipping, has taken delivery of its fourth and final deck carrier.
The vessel is in the Finnish-Swedish 1A Ice Class MC-Class - which means it has been designed for the marine transportation of modules and equipment for large energy projects in hostile environments. According to new owner BigRoll Shipping, it can deliver to remote and inaccessible areas.
BigRoll Beaufort was built by Cosco Dalian Shipyard Co. in China. It will be used immediately for module transportation as part of a short-term project with Yamgaz (a consortium comprising Technip, JGC Corporation and Chiyoda) as part of the Yamal LNG project - a liquefied natural gas project deep in the Russian Arctic.
"This contract with Yamal LNG shows our maritime expertise with a constant focus on safety, service and accountability. We will ensure safe and effective transportation,” commented Bauke van Gent, commercial manager at BigRoll."
BigRoll Shipping said its fleet of four identical carriers means it can offer reliability and flexibility to the market.
