Liechtenstein-based manufacturer Hilti has entered the pipe press market with two new tools and a selection of jaws.

The company has made its name as a manufacturer of handheld tools for the construction, building maintenance and mining markets, and has promised excellent performance and safety, along with healthy cost of ownership with its latest products.

The two new products are the Hilti NPR 19-A and NPR 32-A, with the number representing the kilonewton (kN) press force. The NPR 19-A completes each press within a cycle time of between three and four seconds, while the NPR 32-A achieves this in seven seconds.

The models have an inbuilt pressure sensor which automatically stops and retracts after each press cycle. If the pressing process is incomplete or there is a technical problem, an alarm sounds and a light flashes to warn the user. Each product also has quick stop and manual retraction functions if required.

Valentina Batteri, product manager for cordless tools at Hilti, said, “Reliability is key and press tools and jaws that are not properly manufactured and maintained can lead to serious problems.

“This is why our service and repair offering will make our products the most desirable in the market, knowing both quality and costs can be closely controlled.”

The models are part of Hilti’s 22 V cordless tool platform that consists of drill drivers, rotary hammers and angle grinders among other equipment. All Hilti 22 V batteries can be charged using the same charger and can power any of the tools in the range.
