The 2023 World Demolition Awards have attracted a record entry as contractors and manufacturers across the industry compete for high-level recognition in Canada later this year.

The awards, which recognise innovation and best practice in a range of categories, will be presented at a gala dinner during the World Demolition Summit in Toronto on 17 and 18 October.

Now in their 15th year, the awards have a special place for demolition and recycling professionals as the winners are chosen by people who know the industry.

The international judging panel comprises European Demolition Association president Stefano Panseri, his predecessor Francisco Cobo, US National Demolition Association president James Milburn, Australia’s Clinton Dick, senior North Americans Bill Moore, Dan Costello and Jim Graham, and Europe-based experts Henrik Bonnesen and Patrick Frye.

Together they will combine over 300 years of industry experience as they whittle the entries down to shortlists which will be announced in August.

The World Demolition Summit also includes a one-day conference and a networking drinks reception. It is organised in co-operation with the National Demolition Association of the USA with the support of the European Demolition Association, and the headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
