Eve Trakway buys tent linings company
23 October 2008
The deal means that Eve Trakway is now able to manufacture, hire and sell interiors and linings as well as thermal and noise insulation systems.
The acquisition follows the recent investment in Eve Trakway by private equity company LDC, which has provided funds for capital investment and acquisitions. Rick Barnett, Eve Trakway's managing director, told IRN at the Showman's Show in October that the Fluid acquisition was one of four the company was currently pursuing as part of its growth strategy.
Focused on temporary tracks and coverings for events and industrial customers, the company is looking to expand its product offerings, although does not want to become a ‘one-stop-shop' for the events sector.
Mr Barnett said; "we want to offer products that customers expect us to deliver", with a focus on non-powered, "lightly-serviced" products. He ruled out a move into marquee or temporary structure rentals; "The UK has lots of good tent companies, it would be pretty foolhardy to take that on. But we want to service the industry, hence the linings acquisition."
Nigel Russell, managing director of Fluid Event Interiors, said; "We're very excited to have come under Eve Trakway's ownership. With Eve Trakway being a large and established organisation, we will now have the infrastructure to allow for growth and continue to improve our service offering."
Eve Trakway has also just entered into an alliance with Select Plant that will see the two companies cooperate on contracts. In particular, Eve Trakway will have access to Select's range of lighting towers and generators.
