International Rental News magazine and its publisher KHL Group are organising a major new rental conference for China, taking place in Beijing on Monday 14 October 2013, the day before the BICES exhibition.

The International Rental Conference (IRC) will be forum for top-level debate on the fast-growing equipment rental industry. It will provide Chinese and Asian rental delegates with insights on ‘best practice’ rental management techniques; allow senior rental managers worldwide to learn from each other; and highlight rental opportunities in China itself.

The first confirmed speaker for the event is Michael Kneeland, who is president and chief executive officer of US-based company United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental business.

The conference announcement was made on the first day of the Bauma China exhibitiion in Shanghai, taking place on 27-30 November.

The event has the official support of the Machinery Management & Rental Division of the China Construction Industry Association (CCIA). The Machinery Management & Rental Division represents the interests of equipment fleet owners in China and its membership includes 600 rental companies. The conference will be opened by the division’s managing director, Mr Jia Li Cai.

Presentations will highlight the development of China’s rental sector and the role of equipment manufacturers in the rental business. Speakers will come from established rental businesses in developed rental markets as well as leading rental players in China.

The conference is being organised by International Rental News magazine and its publisher, KHL Group.

Keynote speaker Michael Kneeland said; "I am enthusiastically looking forward to attending and presenting at the Rental Conference in Beijing next October.

"By bringing together senior rental people from throughout Asia, we will have an opportunity to discuss latest global industry trends and share best practices. The timing couldn’t be better as rental continues to grow in established markets and begins to make progress in emerging markets. I hope to see you in Beijing."

Murray Pollok, Editor of International Rental News, said; “China is positioned to become one of the world’s most important equipment rental markets.

"The International Rental Conference will provide rental companies, equipment manufacturers and others with a fantastic insight into how the market will develop, and how China’s growing rental industry can learn from established rental players in other markets.”

The event will take place on the day before the BICES exhibition, giving delegates the opportunity to attend the exhibition after the conference.
