The company will take delivery of 230 units throughout 2019, ranging from 7 to 17m in size.

The purchase represents the largest portion of Nixon Hire’s overall £22 million (€25.4 million) capital expenditure plan for 2019.

Graham Nixon, Managing Director of Nixon Hire, said, “The purchase of these machines comes at a very exciting period of growth for Nixon Hire. Our depot network is expanding and the fleet is getting larger – all of which enhances our service offering to customers nationwide.”

He added, “Telehandlers are a core product for Nixon Hire and JCB machines remain in high demand with customers from a wide range of industries due to their durability, comfort and reliability. We have placed such a large order to meet this demand and to fulfil our planned fleet replacement programme”.

Nixon stressed the importance of maintaining a modern fleet by regularly buying new equipment to replace older machines because this ensures Nixon Hire can offer the latest in safety features and engine emission technology.

Nixon operates 13 depots across England and Scotland, with a central support office in Newcastle Upon Tyme. In 2018, the company made a turnover of £65 million (€75.06 million).
