Turkish aerial platform company İstanbul Vinç has established a specialist atrium lift rental company called Örümcekci (Örümcek is Turkish for spider).

The business has a fleet of Teupen, Omme Lift and CTE atrium lifts in the 17 to 30 m height range and is targeting the vast and growing number of shopping malls and hotels in the country.

A spokesman for the company told Access International that "the Turkish market is booming. We have lots of potential, especially the big investments in the construction sector in Turkey.

"There are almost 450 shopping malls in Turkey and everyday there is a new one. Our customers are mostly shopping malls and hotels."

The business is operating from seven depots in major Turkish cities, in İstanbul, Çerkezköy, İzmir, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep and Adana.

İstanbul Vinç, owned by Mr Mustfa Bilgin and established in 1996, rents truck mounted platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and access towers, as well as truck cranes. It also has a 50% share of Tower Rent, which was created in 2008 to sell and rent scaffold towers and low level work podiums in Turkey. It is a dealer for Instant Upright, IPS, CTE and Holland Lift.

It also has a part share of Biglift, which rents larger truck mounted platforms up to 70 m working height, including Wumag units.
