Darda's TC120 tank cutter can carry out cold cutting of steel tanks with wall thicknesses of up to 15 mm

Darda has introduced the TC120 tank cutter that weighs in at 270 kg (594 lb), including a rotary drive, designed to carry out the safe cold cutting of steel tanks and panels up to 15 mm (0.6 inch) thick. The new tool develops a cutting force of up to 660 kN (60 tonnes) with an inlet pressure of 175 bar. The company claims that this would allow the tool to cut 60-90 m (197-296 ft) of 5 mm (0.2 inch) steel per hour. The TC120 has been designed for use on excavators weighing from 3 to 8 tonnes, as well as the Brokk 260 demolition robot.

Darda says that the tool can easily cut structural steel plates, stainless steel plates and all kinds of tanks and other steel elements without the risk of releasing flammable vapours, allowing coated tanks with residual content to be dismantled risk-free. The equipment is operated from a safe distance and without the need for any scaffolding.
