Italian aggregates producer and recycler Re.i.cal, based in Pollenza, has taken delivery of a Metso Lokotrack ST3.5 tracked screen and is using it to classify rock based recyclable materials with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day. Re.i.cal is a family owned company that operates a stationary quarry to produce aggregates for concrete production. It made the decision to also recycle materials a number of years ago.

According to managing director Andrea Renzi: "We plan to use our Lokotrack ST3.5 in both recycling and quarrying. Thanks to its compact size, the unit can be easily transported on a normal trailer, which is a big plus for us."

Re.i.cal's machine features Metso's optional vibrating grid, which in recycling applications ensures clean end products and in quarrying results in quicker feeding and reduced requirement to tilt the grid for cleaning. It also features separate remote radio controls for the screen and the vibrating grid, allowing total steering and adjustment of the screening process from the excavator or wheeled loader cab.
