El-Bjorn launches low voltage LED site lights

Swedish power, light and climate control specialist El-Bjorn has introduced a new low-energy, LED light fitting for use with its site lighting products.
El-Bjorn said the new 12 W LED lamp will further improve upon energy efficiency on sites, replacing its previous 23 W low energy bulb, which was itself more efficient than the traditional fluorescent tubes used on many sites.
The new lamps, which have B22 Bayonet fittings and can be used with existing El-Bjorn lamps, are offered in two versions, a 48 V model and a dual voltage 110/230 V version. Both are 12 W and offer instantaneous 1000 lumen lighting performance at start up.
Mike Dibley, El-Bjorn’s UK business development director, said the new light is around half the weight of the current version. Installation cables and fixings are also said to be cheaper when using the 48 V version, because they are under 50 V and comply with regulations covering SELV (safety extra-low voltage) power supplies.
El-Bjorn produces a wide range of power, heating light ad climate control systems. In recent years it has been a pioneer in web-based monitoring of temporary power distribution boards (MDUs) on construction sites.
