Two Liebherr towers for Lavgan Dockyard

Lavgan Dockyard in Maharashtra, India, has taken delivery of two Liebherr 200 EC-H 10 FR.tronic top slewing tower cranes for its ship repair yard.
The 200 EC-H 10 FR.tronic has a maximum load moment of 200 tonne-metres. The two models will be used to position heavy components on ships of 10,000 dead weight tonnes (DWT) and up to 130 m long, that are being repaired at the yard. They can undergo maintenance work in up to six berths in the dry dock and three wet berths, a spokesperson said.
Both cranes have been erected with a hook height and radius of 50 m. Lifting capacity for the cranes in this configuration is 3.4 tonnes. To be able to carry out work along the length of the ships, the cranes have been mounted on rail portals with a generator to supply power.
“Each of the four chassis is powered by a 7.5 kW electric motor,” a spokesperson said. “These enable the cranes to move softly yet quickly at speeds of up to 21.1 metres per minute on the tracks which extend over a length of around 120 metres.”
For corrosion protection, the cranes have a special coating for maritime use. In addition, the housing of the electronic equipment is made of stainless steel. Both cranes are fitted with the MICROMOVE positioning system.
