‘Significant’ plant investment for Erith

Major demolition contractor the Erith Group has made a substantial investment in plant equipment said to be worth more than £2 million (US$2.8 million).

Erith’s investment includes 12 Hitachi hydraulic excavators

The United Kingdom-based company has purchased 12 Hitachi hydraulic excavators encompassing the ZX85US, ZX135US, ZX 225, 350 and 490 models. The company has also invested in Kleemann, Doppstadt, Stanley and Kinshofer screening products and shears.

Most of the new plant has been fitted with OilQuick fully automatic hydraulic quick couplers.

Managing director David Darsey said: “This significant investment demonstrates our commitment to providing benchmark service through the procurement of modern, specialist and advanced plant.

“With this additional strength, we can provide added value to our diverse client portfolio through advancements in efficient and sustainable equipment.”

As well as its investment in demolition machinery, Erith has increased its recycling capacity with its Washmills Recycling Centre in the south of England, which treats 75,000 t of construction and demolition waste every year.
