UK specialist hire firm Andrews Sykes has launched a new app for iPhone and iPad, offering photo quotation functionality.

The free app, five months in development, is designed to appeal to organisations with a requirement for temporary climate control equipment including heater, boiler, chiller and air conditioning hire.

Paul Wood, managing director of Andrews Sykes, said: “Our clients operate in a diverse array of industries and markets and this app is designed to appeal to those customers who need information at their fingertips, in circumstances where perhaps a laptop or PC isn’t readily available, or where urgency is paramount and a mobile tool is needed.

“Some of our clients require units to be on site within just hours of sourcing a quote, and so we believe this app will be a highly functional way to access our services. It also complements our mobile site, for people out in the field or when time really is of the essence.”

The app mirrors many of the resources available on the main Andrew Sykes website. New additions include a heating and cooling calculator, which allows users to quickly calculate the capacity that may be required from either heating or cooling units for different sized rooms.

A photo quotation option offers a simple way for users to obtain a quote by capturing an image of the designated room and then uploading the photo for review by the Andrew Sykes team.

Contact details for Andrew Sykes depots across the UK are also included, along with a depot locator tool.

The app also offers quick links to Andrews Sykes’ Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blog pages as well as direct access to live chat.
