ESTA board changes

24 May 2013

A round of position changes at the European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes (ESTA) sees David Collett as the new president. Collett, managing director at R. Collett & Sons (Transport) Limited in the UK, was previously president of the association’s transport section. He takes over from the late Christian-Jacques Vernazza who died in March and was ESTA president for the maximum term.

Other moves see André Friderici, from Swiss specialized transport contractor Friderici Special, take the position of transport section president vacated by Collett. Ton Klijn from Wagenborg Nedlift in the Netherlands was re-elected as ESTA general secretary and Søren Jansen is now ESTA director. Robert Markewitsch from German crane rental company Gebr. Markewitsch was elected to the board, as was Thierry Servile, director general at the Union Francaise du Levage in France.

Sander Splinter, Mammoet Europe president, was re-elected as president of the crane section and Hendrik Sarens, Sarens director, continues as treasurer. Transport section vice president is Wim Richie, crane section vice president is Ton Klijn, and Phillippe Chavernac is head of communications. Caroline van Geest continues as office manager.

All board members were elected for three-year terms.
