Gottwalds on the Mississppi

22 May 2008

Two Gottwald Generation 5 floating cranes, headed for the lower Mississippi in the US, will be brought together with three others on the river under a new joint venture.

The two HPK 6400 B cranes were ordered by Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) for its subsidiary American River Transportation Company (ARTCO).

A Gottwald HPK 330 EG crane was also ordered by St James Stevedoring Company (SJS) on the same stretch of river, bringing its tally to three units.

The five cranes will now be brought together under the name of St James Stevedoring Partners LLC, headquartered in Convent, Louisiana. They will provide midstream transloading of bulk and break-bulk cargo between ships and river barges in the lower Mississippi River area.
