Italian increase

Italy's Earthmoving equipment market recorded sales of 13177 units in H1 2006, a +8,2% rise on H1 2005, according to a report by Camamoter (Costruzione Macchine Movimento Terra), Italy's earthmoving equipment manufacturers' association.
The biggest risers by machine type included dozers, +24,5%, skid steer loaders, +13,6%, and mini excavators, +9,6%.
However, while motor graders showed an incredible rise of +800% in reality this meant sales of just nine units. The biggest fall was in crawler loaders, -46,2%, while backhoe loaders, crawler and wheeled excavators also fell, -5%, -4,6% and -13,7% respectively.
In the road building sector sales of single drum rollers rose +26,8%. However, vibrating tandem rollers fell - 2,6%, while asphalt finishers dropped -19,2%. Sales of hydraulic breakers also fell by -1%.
