Wolfgang Roth, retires after 18 years as chairman of the board at Mateco.

After nearly two decades as chairman of the board, Wolfgang Roth has retired from German rental company, Mateco. The executive board members, Hans Hasso Kersten and Armin Rappen take over Mr Roth's roles and will continue to develop the company's business.

Mr Roth has presided over the Stuttgart based company as it grew from a small regional company to an organisation with subsidiaries in France, Luxembourg and Poland.

Mateco now operates from 27 locations in Germany and Europe, has over 400 employees and recorded a turnover of €70 million in 2008.The company's fleet of around 3700 work platforms includes more than 350 equipment variants.

On 3 April 2009 over 90 guests from Germany and outside attended an event to honour Mr Roth. Among the speakers was Leopold Mayrhofer, chairmen of the board of the AVS System Lift AG who described Mt Roth as a fair and competitive business associate.
